Obituary of Frank B. Chambers

Frank B. Chambers, 78 of Cloquet died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 in the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. He was born October 4, 1923 in Remer, Minn. Frank was an Army Veteran of WWII. On September 18, 1946, he married Iva Fields in Kingston, Arkansas. He worked in construction as a heavy equipment mechanic and welder throughout the country. He moved to Duluth in 1958 and has lived in Cloquet since 1977. In 1966 he went to work as a welder for Northland Equipment and later for Lake Superior Oil until retiring in June of 1990. Frank was a former member of the Duluth Apostolic Gospel Church. He was a member of River of Life Church, Local Union #49 and the Teamsters Local 324. He enjoyed spending time and fishing at Shamrock Lake near Bovey. Frank was preceded in death by his mother in 1979 and several siblings. He is survived by his wife, Iva of Cloquet; his children, John (Shelly) of Waltham, Mass., Eddie (Jan) of Grand Rapids, David (Linda) of Wrenshall, Frankie (Jeff) Brunelle of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Cleo (Joyce) of Penguilly, James of Cloquet, Alice Waltz of Brainerd and Leola Hey of Virginia; his sister, Alice Rix of British Columbia; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; his special and dear friends, Scott and Melody Maker of Cloquet and his church family. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2002 in River of Life Church, 1002 Carlton Avenue in Cloquet. Burial was in Perch Lake Cemetery, Perch Lake Township. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet.
