Obituary of Taimie M. Heine

Taimie M.(Heikkila) Heine, 86 of Cloquet, died Thursday, August 21, 2001 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born in Cedar Valley Township on July 20, 1915 to Henry and Fanny Heikkila. She married K.A. "Kougo" Heine on February 7, 1942. She was a graduate of Floodwood High School and U.M.D. Taimie taught school for over 35 years in St. Louis County, Renton, Washington and Cloquet. She was known for her firm but caring teaching style. She was a member of CCRE, Alpha Delta Kappa Psi Chapter, Finlandia Beach Club, AARP, #3058, REAM, Our Savior's Lutheran Church and was a former Girl Scout Leader of Troop 288. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Toivo Heikkila and an infant sister. Taimie is survived by her two children, Marianne (Pat) Curran of West Bloomfield, MI and a son, Richard K. (Ruth) Heine of Cloquet; two brothers, Tauno (Esther) Heikkila and Archie (Ingrid) Heikkila both of Cedar Valley; four grandchildren, Patrick and Tristan Curran of West Bloomfield and Sarah and Luke Heine of Cloquet; and two sisters-in-law, Aino Heikkila of Cedar Valley and Ailie Sunnarborg of Cloquet. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 24, 2001 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Heine Scholarship Fund or Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St.in Cloquet.
