Obituary of Earl Juntunen

Earl Norman Juntunen, 72, of Esko, died Sunday, April 7, 2002 in the home where he was born on February 12, 1930 to Hjalmer and Hilma (Peters) Juntunen. Earl was a graduate of Esko High School, UMD and also completed post graduate courses at the University of Minnesota. He was an artist and designer and worked for architectural firms in Duluth, Virginia and Minneapolis until he became self-employed. Earl was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Apostolic Lutheran Church in Esko. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, William, Carl and Arthur and two sisters, Martha Boutang and Betty Bergstedt. Earl is survived by his niece with whom he lived in Esko, Sara (John) Johnson and their daughters Holly, Ashley, Megan and Elsa; brothers, Dr. Roy (Audrey), Joseph (Ruth), Merton "Chum" (Donna) and Dennis (Marianne); sisters, Lorna Johnston, Elsa (Mel) Carlson and Kay (Marlen) Perttula and 36 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2002 in Apostolic Lutheran Church, Esko. Spring inurnment will take place in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet.
