Obituary of Tilda Sophie Tuura

Tilda "Tillie" S. Turra, 90, of Cloquet died Sunday, July 14, 2002 in the Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. She was born December 19, 1911 in East Lake to Jacob and Mari (Selanpaa) Bottila. She attended Green Valley School. Tillie married Emil Turra on October 1, 1929 and they made their home in Cloquet. They farmed north of Cloquet for 40 years. Tillie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil in 1980; a daughter, Delores Anderson in 2001 and a son, Jack in 1977; brothers, Hjalmer and John Bottila; sisters, Stella Rosbacka and Daisy Layon. Tillie is survived by two brothers, William (Helen) Bottila and George (Margaret) Bottila both of East Lake; three sisters, Elina Bodie of Carlton, Florence Felver of Tracy, Calif., Ailie Davidson of Two Harbors; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 2002 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cloquet. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed in the fireside room of the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
