Obituary of Dorothy E. Beck

Dorothy E. Beck, 71, of Cloquet died Friday, June 27, 2003 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born March 11, 1932 in Green Valley Township of Becker County, Minnesota. She was the second child of Sylvester and Rita Erickson. Dorothy married Wallace C. Beck on March 21, 1952 in Menahga, MN and together they moved to Cloquet in 1953. They recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Dorothy loved spending time doing everything with her "boyfriend", Wally. They were an inseparable pair - in their beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, going for long walks, or just being together at home. She enjoyed sewing for her daughters and made gorgeous handmade quilts for all of her immediate family and many friends. Drawing and painting were among her hobbies and she entertained her grandchildren with her sketches and oil paintings. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Erickson. Dorothy was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her husband, Wallace of Cloquet; her daughters, Deborah (James) Dahlstrom of Buffalo, MN and Connie (Randy) Rodd of Wrenshall; her grandchildren, Callie Rodd, Stacy Rodd, Matthew Dahlstrom, and Joshua Dahlstrom; her brother, Clarence (Smila) Erickson of Cloquet and her sister, Judy Breitenfeldt of Detroit Lakes. A funeral service was held on Monday, June 30, 2003 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
