Obituary of Dorothy Helen Johnson

Dorothy Helen Johnson,73, Albany, MN, passed away suddenly Friday, December 19, 2003. She was with her loving husband of 50 years at the time. Dorothy was born June 28, 1930 in Floodwood to Ernest and Helen Johnson. She graduated from Floodwood High School and was inducted into the National Honor Society in 1948. She was a graduate of Hursch Business College in Duluth. Dorothy worked for the Itasca County Attorney Office, St. Louis County Auditors Office and the Minnesota Department of Corrections from which she retired as executive secretary in January 1994. In life, Dorothy was a great storyteller, was an avid reader and loved to write. She, along with her husband, enjoyed the hobby of collecting antiques. Her family and friends were always tickled by her clever wit, humor and laughter. Her kindness and generosity was bountiful and she will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Johnson. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Roland, of Albany, MN; her four children, Lynn (Hal) Johnson of Minneapolis, Brian (Julie) Johnson of Grand Marais, Paige (Jon) Ball of Phoenix, AZ and Brett Johnson of Albany; four grandchildren, Cain, Cody, Andy and Allie and a brother, Russell (Katie) Johnson of Ellerslie, GA. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 23, 2003 from 11:00 until the 12:00 Noon funeral service in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Township. A time of fellowship will be held at the Grand Portage Restaurant in Floodwood following the interment service.
