Obituary of Helen Cecelia Johnson

Helen Cecelia Johnson, 85, of Cloquet, died Friday, June 18, 2004 in Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital. She was born December 7, 1918 in Thomson Township, the daughter of Fred and Alexandra (Pellerin) McKibbon. She married Clifford Johnson on August 8, 1941 in Cloquet. Before her marriage, Helen was employed by Northwest Paper in Cloquet. Following her marriage, she worked as a waitress at the East End Café, Skyline Café and Copper Skillet in Cloquet. Helen was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a member of its' St. Francis Circle, the Daughters of Isabella, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of the Lady Foresters. She had previously served as a Girl Scout Leader and was a very active volunteer for many organizations and events including the Cloquet Hospital Gift Shop, Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Cloquet. Helen enjoyed bowling and bowled on a league for over 25 years, Twins baseball, traveling and picking berries. She especially loved to have coffee and dinners with her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford in 1996; her parents and six brothers, Andrew, William, Clarence, Walter, Harry and Frederick McKibbon. Helen was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sister, Esther Korby of Scanlon; two brothers, Robert McKibbon of Cromwell and Texas and Russell McKibbon of Barnum; special caregivers, Stanley McKibbon, Debby Johnson, Helen Beseman and Audrey Maier, sister-in-laws, Ardelle (Don) Anderson of Snellville, GA, Dorothy Johnson of Cloquet, BonnieGene Johnson and Dolores Johnson, both of Two Harbors; a brother-in-law, Donald F. Johnson of Carlton; nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Visitation will Tuesday, June 22, 2004 from 5 - 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary by the Daughters of Isabella in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Visitation will continue Wednesday, June 23, 2004 from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Cloquet. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet.
