Obituary of Evelyn Anna Linnea Hall

Evelyn Anna Linnea Hall, 92, formerly of Mahtowa, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 in Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton, where she had been a resident for several years. She was born July 7, 1911 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Charles and Bernhardina (Anderson) Johnson. Evelyn attended Blackhoof Valley School where she was a champion speller, participated and won many ribbons in Declam contests and especially loved to participate in drama activities. She married Huldor Hall on November 10, 1933 in Carlton. Along with her husband, she farmed for many years, especially enjoying her cows. Evelyn was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and its' Women's Guild and the Neighborhood Birthday Club. She enjoyed traveling, wintering in the South, gardening, knitting and crocheting. She received several awards on the local and national level for her crocheted tablecloths and was known as an awesome cook. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Huldor on October 25, 2000 and one brother, George Johnson. She is survived by her three children, Terry (Gay) Hall of Carlton, Ronald (Donna) Hall of Cloquet and Marilyn (Wallace) Fetters of Prescott, AZ; two sisters, Mildred Wieck and Esther Swanson, both of Mahtowa, 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 in Salem Lutheran Church, Mahtowa. Interment was in Sandy Lake Cemetery, Blackhoof Township. Memorials may be made to Inter-Faith Care Center.
