Thank you for being THE BEST Mom and role model one could ever hope for! You will forever be the rock upon which our family was/is built and you will always be my dearest friend as well. I have never respected, loved and/or admired anyone like I do you, Mom, and I already miss you SO MUCH! Thank you for waiting for me so I could be there holding your hand for days before and as you crossed over into heaven. I sure appreciated the few hours we spent together even after you met Jesus face to face as well, and I will forever cherish every moment! You died just as you had always lived, Mom…full of peace and with complete trust in your Jesus. I have been wonderfully surprised by the Divine “peace that passes all understanding” which has filled my heart since you moved to heaven too, Mom, but I know you are exactly where you want to be…with Jesus, Dad, your sister and lifelong BFF, Violet, your Mom & Pop, Bob, Kirby and countless other loved ones awaiting you there with arms wide open. I am so grateful to know that no illness, harm or heartache can ever reach you again either because you are safe in the arms of Jesus forever and ever. Thank you for your continued prayers for me and the rest of our family too, Mom. Lord knows we desperately need them in order to have even half a chance of carrying on the legacy of love and service to God and to others which you and Dad left for us. And ‘what a day that will be when our Jesus, Mama, Dad, Bob, Kirby, grandparents and countless others we shall see’ and squeeze again! I can hardly wait, my dear, sweet Mama, and please know I will hold you in my heart every moment of every day until then. Thank you for everything, my precious Mom! You know I couldn’t possibly love you any more than I do, and I always will!

Knowing Ruth Rasmussen through Linda Smith her daughter, has encouraged me in faith. I wish that I could have personally known her… home economics for the woman of God was evident in her life and in her family, as a result. Home and family are so very important in the economy of Jesus Christ in our lives.God bless you all with comfort in memories together

Dear Rasmussen family. Wes and Kay McLeod send our sincere condolences, and join in celebrating Ruth's remarkable and long life. Some memories include how Ruth encouraged children and youth to memorize portions of the Bible and even win prizes for doing so! Ruth was known amongst our church family and community as being very hospitable. People were always welcome! Even late in life while living with Virgil at Aspen Arms she invited us for a "light lunch" and then put out her best chinaware! The Luoma family appreciated Pastor and Mrs. Rasmussen's visits which always concluded with prayer. Kay says it was challenging to think of being a pastor's wife when measured by the tremendous gifts of "Mrs. Rasmussen"! A light-hearted memory is that Ruth could seem to occassionally nod off in church during a message and then suddenly open her eyes to continue writing notes without missing a beat! "Well done good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21). We shall meet again around God's Throne!

My sincere condolences to Ruth's family and friends. May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand and bathe you in the peace and comfort of His Holy Spirit. May memories of happier times sustain you in these dark hours. Ruth was such a lovely, spirit filled little lady that one couldn't help but want to be in her presence. She was such a hard worker....hardly anything went on at the Tab that she wasn't a part of in some way. While I am saddened by your loss, I'll rejoice in the fact that she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever, with Virgil by her side.

Arlen and family, I am sorry to hear of your mother's death. I last talked to her at Marilyn Joseph's funeral a few years ago. I was sitting with the family and you mother asked me who I was. I reminded her of when I had her as a substitute teacher in junior high school and did an oral report (which I almost entirely made up) about the cannibalism among the Kwakiutl Indians of the Northwest. I can still see the look on her face as she did no know what to say about my 'report'. I know she had a long and eventful life and had a wonderful family. I know you will all miss her a lot. Dear Ruth & family, you finally got to go to your Heavenly home! What an honor to have our paths cross at the "Tab". There we found out we were both believers & Home Ec teachers...what a combination! Thank you, Ruth, for leading the womens' Bible study that I brought my Mom to in her last days. Say Hi! to her for me. You were my 2nd "Mom" after my Mom died.
