Obituary of Elouise Grace Lucking
Elouise Grace Lucking, 93, of Cromwell passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Tracy, Minnesota to Earl and Grace Filkins.
She attended Tracy High School, graduating in 1948. Going on to Mankato State Collage for her teaching degree. She taught at Milroy, Litchfield, and Rosemount for 10 years. After teaching she enjoyed being a secretary, florist and owner of A-1 Percolation.
Elouise married Richard Lucking on August 11, 1956, in Rosemount, MN. Together they raised three children, Brett, Cory and Carrie. Richard and Elouise built a cabin in 1965 on Eagle Lake in Cromwell. In 2000 they built a new home where the old family cabin stood.
She had a stroke in 2014 and has resided at the Villa Vista in Cromwell.
Elouise was a member of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Garden Club in Rosemount. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, oil painting, cooking, and baking. She loved spending time with family. Elouise always gave the biggest hugs, words of encouragement and would never let you leave without an “I love you” and to tell the rest of the family “I love you.”
Elouise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Brett; and brothers, Richard and Elgin.
She is survived by her son, Cory Lucking; daughter, Carrie (John) Foley; sister, Barbara Coyle; grandchildren, Milo Cliff, Channing (Jacob) Line, Jessica (Michael) Fish, Joshua Lucking, Gracie Foley; great-grandchildren, Richard Cliff, Ahlyn, Breken, Case, and Gunner Line, Emmett, Elouise, and Eli Fish.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5609 MN-210 in Cromwell. There will be a Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a service and a luncheon. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
