Obituary of Donald Thomas DeNio

Donald Thomas DeNio passed away, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on November 26, 1939 to Thomas Harold DeNio and Violet C. Cullen. He graduated from Proctor (Saginaw) High School. He was united in marriage to Margaret Lucy DeNio (Trinkhaus) January 10, 2005 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

Donald was a Marine Sergeant E-5; he was a tank crewman and bulldozer operator.  He received the Good Conduct Medal, Expert badge (cal. 45 pistol), and Sharpshooter Badge (M-14 rifle). 

Donald worked at the Target receiving dock for 38 years.  He enjoyed spending his time crafting benches and bird houses. 

He was preceded in death by his mother; Violet DeNio; father, Thomas DeNio; and sisters, Irene Sorenson, and Ethal Mae Mencel.

He is survived by; wife, Margaret DeNio; children, Bob (Brenda) DeNio, Sheri (Jason) Deiter, Joanna (Joe) DeNio, Chris (Jen) Trinkhaus; grandchildren, Aneisha (Sean) Stebbins, Emily DeNio, Benjamin DeNio, Ellie Deiter, Chase Deiter, Bella Trinkhaus, Chloe Trinkhaus, Jax Trinkhaus; great-grandchild, Oakley Stebbins; sisters, Georgann Cisotto, Gen Hennekemp, Margorite Denio and family friend Raymond Smith.
