I'd like to extend my sympathy to Al's family. I was shocked to learn of his death when I read the Pine Journal.
Al and I attended school together in Cloquest. We also served together in the Army in 1972. Al was one of my good friends in the Army and we saw each other occasionally afterwards until I moved to Chicago in 1986.
Al was always a great friend and those of us who knew Al will remember his wonderful sense of humor and positive attitude. Al always admired his family. I remember in 1972 when we were at the resort at the lake and how proud Al was of his parents.
I extend my best wishes to Al's family as I'm sure this is a difficult time. I'll remember Al in my prayers.

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel in Alans passing. We have known him for many years....he was just a "kid" when we first met him at Round Lake... Always a big smile and a warm welcome whenever we ran into him.. Just a very Special guy.!! We are so very sorry Betty and Len, may God encircle you in His strong arms and give you comfort during this tragic time... We love you and wish we could help you, but we know how empty those words sound to you at this time. God Bless you and be with you and your family... Love, Betty and John

My sincerest condolences and prayers to those closest to Al. Rachel, I have been hugging you in my heart. Al's good nature was infectious. He always made me feel happy and welcomed!
Best memory: One quiet weekday morning up at Fish Lake, Al, Steve, Warren Sager, and I "played" with seaguls for 4 glorious hrs while listening to classical music . May Al's fun & thoughtful spirit touch all of us like those ripples we watched on the lake. Let us all pass it on in his honor!
