I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. I know Leonard will be missed in the future. He was a great one to BS with. Leonard had already been missed for several years in the line up of trucks at the paper mills. Much Sympathy, Jerry and Aileen (Leonard will always be remembered as "The Moody Blues")

Dear Lila and family,
So sorry to read about Leonard's death. Marilyn and I were talking about it last night, reminiscing about our childhood back in Prairie Lake and remembering Leonard and how he was part of our life, being our "neighbor" and such a good friend to John. We pictured him being so quiet, gentle mannered and of course on a motorcycle along with John and rick Huntoon. Used to tease us so, like the boys would do...but always in a fun way. I feel for you all and have you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and may his strenth help you through this loss.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the Niskanen family. Leonard was one year ahead of me in school (Floodwood). We grew up in the same neighborhood, just on the other side of Prairie Lake. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking about all of you and offer you my condolences.

We were shocked and so saddened at your loss. we are so sorry Suzy, Raija and Michael. Leonard always brought a smile to our faces. We have many happy memories of him and this is so wrong to have him taken away from his family. I hope you can find comfort in the love of family and friends at this time and know that he will live on in the memory of many. And know how much his whole family meant to him.
Rachel Smith and Brian Root
You will be in our thoughts forever.

Dear Suzy
What a shock it was for me to read the obituaries today and see Leonard's name. I am in shock. I remember so many things about Leonard and his family back in the days when Pelofske's and Niskanen's were neighbors. I spent many hours at that house! Leonard and John P. were always the big brothers and were mean to me...chasing me with snakes and all! Oh, to be kids again. Then when I moved to town and you and I became so close. I will always cherish the friendship that we had and am sad to say that we have never kept it up through these years. You and Leonard got married, I moved to Brainerd, Joe and I got married and the rest is history. We get so busy with our families and our kids. I feel for you Suzy, and for your kids, losing their dad at such young ages. You know that I can truly relate to that...with my background. I know that you are a wonderful mother and will be able to support and love them through this loss. I'm sure that Sandy and your mother are there for you Suzy, you guys have always been so close, something I've always been in awe of. You will be in my prayers and thoughts for days to come. Please get in touch with me some time. God Bless you and your kids, take care and be strong for them. Love, Laurie

To Suzy, Raija, Micheal and Lila, We were so sorry to hear of Leonard's death. He was such a good and giving person. I always waited for him to come in to J&V's when I was working because he always put me in a good mood. He had a lot of struggles but handled them well. We are so sorry to hear about his death and if anyone needs help, please let us know. Terri & Don
