Obituary of Aldur T. Johnson

Aldur T. Johnson, 87, Wright, died Thursday, November 20, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth. He was born August 23, 1916 in Duluth, the son of Conrad and Alma (Mattson) Johnson. Aldur will be remembered for his dedication to his church and community, his love of his farm and lake home and his verbal cribbage skills. He was predeced in death by his parents; his two sisters, Ruth Takkunen and Margie Breithaupt and a son-in-law, Curt Dahl. Aldur is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty of Cromwell; four daughters, LeAnne Johnson (Jack Miller) of Stillwater, Carolyn Johnson (Dwain Thompson) of Tamarack, Gwendolyn Lee (Stefan Fisher) and Wendy Johnson (Randy Siebert), both of Medford, OR; six grandchildren, Emily, Carrie, Mandi, Zachary, Anjuli and Graham; two great grandchildren; a sister, Sigrid Kynell of Walworth, WI; a brother-in-law, Arne Takkunen of Lake Nebagamon, WI; a special friend, Arnold John Haakala and nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 24, 2003 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wright. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The National Office of Alcoholics Anonymous or to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
