Obituary of JoAnn Helen Wilson

JoAnn Helen Wilson, 63 of Finlayson died Sunday, November 23, 2003 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. She was born September 6, 1940 in Moose Lake to Arvo and Helen (Koskinen) Maki. JoAnn graduated from Cromwell High School in 1958. After high school she moved to Chicago where she met her husband, Wayne Wilson. Between 1963 and 1972 she lived in Cromwell and Alabama. In 1972 she moved to Coon Rapids and since 1976 has made her home in Finlayson. JoAnn was very active in the Coon Rapids and Finlayson communities. She enjoyed volunteering her time in service to the youth in those communities. For many years she helped the Girl Scouts and was active in Band Boosters. She also helped organize the parades for St. Urho's Day. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne. She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Michael) Moris of Pine City; her mother, Helen Maki of Cromwell; two brothers, Duane (Shirley) Maki of Duluth and Donald (Darlene MacMillan) Maki of Cromwell; and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Friday, November 28, 2003 in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial was in Eagle Lake Cemetery.
