Obituary of Marilyn Julia Walters

Marilyn Julia Walters, 78, of Cromwell, died Friday, March 5, 2021 in St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Paul, MN. She was born April 3, 1942 in Cloquet, the daughter of Orland and Ethel Arbuckle. Marilyn was a graduate of Cloquet High School and attended Macalester College in St. Paul on a music scholarship for violin. Marilyn's church family at Bethany Lutheran in Cromwell were very important to her. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an incredibly loving and supportive mother. Marilyn enjoyed playing her violin, indulging in chocolate, quilting, volunteering, reading, was an incredible cross-word puzzle guru and a jig-saw puzzle aficionado. Through the years she had the opportunity to live in several places but was happy to call Cromwell "home". She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandy Weedman. Marilyn was deeply loved and will be missed by her children, Donna (Brian) House of Cloquet, David (Barbara) Walters of Wenatchee, WA and Rousey (Tanya) Johnson III of Bloomington; grandchildren, Maliya, Seth, Garrett, A. J., Brianna, Brooke, Tanya, and Tiffany; six great grandchildren with another due in June; sisters, Kay Deegan of Treasure Island, FL and Peggy Roy of Duluth; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 2:00 until the 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service, Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Bethany Lutheran Church in Cromwell. Masks and social distancing will be required.
